First Anniversary of Country Squirrels-R-US

Yesterday marked the one year anniversary of my first cake topper listing that sold on Etsy at Country Squirrels-R-US.  A lot of things have come about since then and I thank the Lord for opening the door and paving the way.

Here's a photograph of the wedding cake topper that sold on February 27, 2010.

Fast forward to yesterday where 539 sales were made and nearly 1000 customers and Etsians have marked Country Squirrels-R-US as their favorite.  Where Etsians have included Country Squirrels-R-US 651 times in such beautiful Treasuries (See http://www.etsy.com/treasury/search/?search_query=countrysquirrelsrus&search_type=treasury).  Where I've been invited to be included in the elite Etsy wedding artisan group, Etsy Wedding Divas (http://etsyweddingdivas.blogspot.com/).

Where I have gone from driving 50-70 miles per day round trip and lunch errands for over a decade to having a home studio ... so to bring joy to others by creating something special for someone to enjoy for a lifetime.  Having them purchased by customers from so many states and countries around the world is nothing less than amazing.  The wholesales to shop owners for them to display and sell at their location is a great partnership. 

Little did I realize at the time that one year later my art would be a three full-page feature in the March/April 2011 issue of Southern Lady Magazine, pages 25-27.  Also by request, Brides Magazine has requested a set for possible inclusion in their June 2011 issue so stay tuned!

Southern Lady Magazine Feature in March/April 2011 Edition

Hi all!

The next time you are out and about, stop and pick up the March/April 2011 edition of the Southern Lady Magazine and take a peak at pages 25, 26 and 27!  My cake topper sculptures are full-page news!  Having my art published in such a great magazine is an honor!  Words cannot express how special this is to me.

(...Just don't go to the store I went to ......... I bought them all!  One for framing, one for keeping and a few for.... )

Treasury Postings and First Blog Drawing Give Away Notice

It's been a while, I know.  I needed to spend some time with my 98 year young grandma that is waning. 

I am so honored at the number of Treasuries fellow Etsians post and have tried ways of posting them for all to see.  Now I'll try to keep up with them and post them here.  I may wait until the evening and post all but for right now I'll post them as I get them....  We'll see which works best. 

Also in the works is featuring my first drawing give away!  The end of February marks the first wedding cake topper advertised and sold!  A lot of changes have happened over the last year and I'm excited to share!  So, stay tuned for I will launch the start of the give away next week!  I haven't decided if I will choose a set, have it be winner's choice or if I'll give a gift certificate toward any purchase at countrysquirrelsrus.etsy.com.  Details coming soon!
