Here in my studio with a snow white purring stole that has wrapped herself snuggly around my shoulders (her name is Sammy), it's around 9 a.m. .... in Florida.... and 27 degrees.... If you just said "No Way! In Florida and 9 in the morning?" Well, you would have said the same thing I said. .... Yep... welcome to Florida! In the 40's today - - but wait....it'll be in the 70's by Friday, they say, so don't put away those short sleeves yet! "Yet?" you may ask? In this part of the world you don't need to put those short sleeves away at any time of year but there are times you'll need some long johns....like today, perhaps?
I'm in love!
I'm in love with stamping! I've worked mostly in clay for the last year or so but enjoy so many other styles of art. I made an owl ornament recently in clay and then painted it with acrylics in a watercolor style.....Love it! Yes, I'm in love and will be stamping and painting my way to more listings in my Etsy shop! This technique does not include much sculpting ---- yet---- but it does involve my love of clay and painting so watch out world! Here's a photograph of my Love Owls - birds of a feather....
More stamping and painting please!! Keep an eye out here and at my Etsy shop - CountrySquirrelsRUS.etsy.com for lots of new postings of sculptures, ornaments, and others as the world is my canvas!
Thanks for stopping by...I now must leave my warm stole behind and go outside for a very late start to morning chores....
Have a wonderful day!

Happy December!
The first day of December welcomes a cold morning after a rainy and very windy night. In this part of the world periods of cold aren't very long allowing no time to get acclimated to frigid temperatures. It's that time of year to bundle up for a few days! With a very warm Fall, my Mums are still blooming and I still have grape tomatoes and eggplant growing from Spring and Summer plantings. After the next few cold nights, these plants will be ready for removal, I'm sure.
An extremely odd sounding bird has stopped to visit the last few days. I hear it just at the tree line but haven't been able to get a sighting yet. I hope to have camera in hand when I do as I would like to know what kind it is. Maybe he knows I enjoy sculpting birds and has come to ask for a modeling job!!
I've been asked to join the new Etsy Wedding Divas team. Etsy Wedding Divas is "by invitation" membership only for the best of the bests in the world of Etsy Wedding so it's an honor to be included in such an elite group. Here's the blog link: http://etsyweddingdivas.blogspot.com/ and at Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Etsy-Wedding-Divas/159582284083877.
I have seven new items I've listed at Country Squirrels-R-US. Custom acorns as ornaments and cake toppers are handsculpted using real acorn caps. The acorn nut is made out of colored clay for which I hand blend to a customer's color request(s). Initials and names are engraved and the letters are painted. I've received a lot of compliments and orders are coming in for these cute works of art.
Have a wonderful day and thanks so much for your interest in my art!
